When it comes to the local community, Ad Hoc are interested in more than just providing vacant property protection and low cost accommodation. Take our York office, for example! Members of the team have been involved in fundraising and making the world just a little bit better.

This month, Martin, along with some other Selby residents are helping to feed children who won’t have access to free school meals over half-term. Martin has created a fundraising page which has already raised nearly £3,000 – allowing the group to provide meals at a cost of £2.50 for those who are eligible for free school meals.

Martin told York Press that " …our aim is to help feed 150 local children in the Selby area. These kids are our future and we can't let them down."

But Martin isn’t the only one from the York office who has done some amazing things for the community. Back in April, Chris was instrumental in raising over £10,000 for NHS Charities Together.

Chris and his friend Dave set up a FIFA 20 tournament, which they named the 'Stay Intertoto Cup'. Streaming on Twitch, the tournament was won by Umut Bozok who was leading his virtual and actual club Lorient. A number of other professional football players were also involved, such as James Maddison, Ryan Fredericks and runner-up Philip Billing who plays midfield for A.F.C. Bournemouth.

As donations rolled in, Chris raised the target four times! He told York Press that " …it went from £1,000 to £2,500 to £5,000 and then to £10,000. I'm also aware it's a difficult time financially for a lot of people so to raise £10,000 was fantastic."

Donations are still open, and you can show your support here.

Well done to Martin and Chris. That bit of extra effort is what Ad Hoc is all out!
